Comics are one of the best mediums to show off stories and characters. However, I’ve observed that many artists find making comics intimidating, and don’t know where to start.
Are you an fanartist who wants to share your blorbo stories in a fun visual format? An illustrator who would love to get started with webcomics, or show short stories of your OCs, but find comic layouts and composition scary?
I’m here to help you get started!

I can help you:
- Break down your dialogue/actions into pages and panel compositions to best express the emotions you have in mind!
- No experience with backgrounds? NO PROBLEM! I can show u my tips and tricks to work around how to utilize environments in a way that fits your skills and time (No 3D objects required…unless you want to)
What You Can give me:
- Simple Script for what you want to show—preferably for 6 pages or less (if it goes over thats ok, but may take longer.)
What I can Give you:
- Thumbnails and rough layout of panels so you can get straight to the fun part of drawing!
- Suggestions for how to use either value (black/white/grey tones) or color to help tell your story.
- Preliminary Lettering Placement for speech bubbles, dialogue, etc
(Example of my own preliminary thumbnails for my own work. For my own work, I tend to be a lot looser, but I can make neater guidelines for you!)
What i CANNOT give you
- Sketching/Drawing/inking/coloring the Final comic itself. I am here to lay a strong foundation, but ultimately the creative decisions are up to you!
- Webtoon Scroll Format – My experience is primarily with comic Pages.

I’m Allie, aka Tomatobird, and I’ve been making and selling indie comics for years, and I’ve both organized as well as contributed to various zine projects. I love the medium of comics and storytelling, and I’d love to share the basics I know with other people!

Pricing
- $20/page, possibly more if you want anything more complex or very specific.
- I take payment in advance through Paypal invoice, which I send via email after I know what the scope of your project is.
Credits:
When you finish your comic, your work is your own to sell or distribute as you please! A mention or credit somewhere in your post/zine/etc would be courteous, but not required.
