An illustration I made inspired by the azulejos I saw during my visit in Portugal last year! I was very impressed and amazed by the wide variety of patterns and tiles there were on so many buildings. I enjoyed the stylization as well as the blue color that was very common, and wanted to do something incorporating some of my own angel motifs! Traditional azulejos are all blue, but some have multiple colors within them as well, I liked the contrast of the blue with light gold color for this.
I think it would be interesting to make a few more of these, and adapt them into a tiling pattern-I’ve never done something like that before, but I think it might be fun.
I also think the line art on its own is very elegant—I will probably put it up as an example alongside my tattoo-design works. I’ve been meaning to make a section or page for works that are available for general use (aka not previous commissions) so anyone can use them with the purchase of a tattoo ticket.
