Medieval Doodles – Henry the Young King

More historical illustrations and figures from one of my sadly now defunct blogs. These are from earlier in the year, so they read a little more rough to me, but I thought I should post them here! I read Matthew Strickland’s Henry the Young King, which discusses a lot about the political and social context that led to Henry II co-crowning his son in his lifetime, and the disastrous fallout that it led to. Strickland writes very well and with good details and arguments, and I definitely recommend the read, not just for Plantagenet drama enthusiasts but also for those interested in 12th Century warfare and French/English dynamics.
